Buses depart every 10 minutes from stops along Queen Street, Dominion Road, Symonds Street, and Mount Eden Road. One-way tickets are $18, and if you plan to take the SkyBus home at the end of your trip, return tickets are $32. Tickets can either be purchased in advance or right on the bus for the same price. The SkyBus has complimentary Wifi and will get you to the airport in 40-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

A taxi to the airport from the city centre takes less than a half hour. Several taxi companies as well as Uber are available to pick you up from around the Auckland area and drop you off at Auckland Airport. A taxi to the airport costs about $60 from the CBD and central suburbs of Auckland.

Auckland Airport has several car parks that are close to the International Terminal. Car Park A offers the cheapest rates, with a week costing $75. Getting to the city centre from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL)

The most efficient way to travel from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) into the New Delhi city centre is on the Delhi Metro. From the airport, catch the Airport Express Line, which will connect you to many of the major areas around the New Delhi area. Some popular destinations on the train are New Delhi Station and Connaught Place in the city centre. Trains depart regularly throughout the day, every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours. Trains into the New Delhi city centre get you there in about 20 minutes, and tickets cost 60 rupees (about $1.20 NZD).

Several buses depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), offering the cheapest method of transportation into the city centre. Buses heading to the centre depart from Terminal 3 of New Delhi Airport every 10 minutes throughout the day. The bus makes several central stops, including Connaught Place, Sardar Patel, the Interstate Bus Terminal, and Parliament Street. Bus fares vary by location, but are a maximum of 25 rupees.

Due to the airport’s close proximity to the city, a taxi from New Delhi Airport is a very practical option. While New Delhi is known for its bad traffic, even in busy traffic conditions, you’ll get to the city centre in about 30 minutes. Taxis pick up passengers from all three airport terminals, and taxi fare from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to the city centre costs about 170-195 rupees, which is less than $5 NZD.

Red Fort

The Red Fort is an impressive building located in the centre of New Delhi. Up until 1856, it was home to the Mughal Dynasty emperors as well as the main location for political meetings and ceremonies in the region. Watch the Changing of the Guard at Rashtrapati Bhavan

This palace is the official home to the president of India. The Presidential Estate includes the palace as well as sprawling gardens, stables, various offices, and houses for staff and bodyguards. Every Saturday and Sunday, visitors are invited to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside of the palace. During the ceremony, bodyguard troops change in a choreographed routine, and the ceremony finishes with a horse display. Watching the Changing of the Guard is free, but you will need to register in advance through the president’s official website.

Visit the National Museum
