It takes between 15 and 20 minutes to travel from the Christchurch CBD to the airport, depending on traffic. Two metro bus lines run from the city centre to CHC via the Purple line or Route 29 buses. You can buy your $8.50 NZD on-way ticket from the bus driver. Return tickets are $15 NZD. A taxi can take you to CHC in about 15 minutes.   • Orchard Road Car Park: If you have sweet-talked a friend or family member into picking up your car after you drive yourself to the airport, leave your ride in this car park located on Orchard Road. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes and only $10 NZD for the first four hours. If you want to leave your car there longer, daily parking fees are $22 NZD with a weekly maximum of $154 NZD.
  • Craddocks: Located on Ron Guthrey Road, the Craddocks car park offers both covered and uncovered storage as well as detailing and maintenance on your car while you are away. On-demand shuttles will bring you to and from the terminals in 15 minutes or less. The drive-up rate for a covered space is $80 NZD for the first 24 hours and $12 NZD for each additional 24 hours. Uncovered spaces are $60 NZD for the first 24 hours and $10 NZD for each additional 24 hours. If you pre-book your Craddocks park prior to arrival, you can save up to 30% off drive-up rates.
