Know Before You Go

  • Visit Dusseldorf's Old Town if you are a beer connoisseur. The streets are called the "longest bar in the world" and have more than 260 drinking dens. Plus, the city even has its own beer that you can try as well.
  • If you are looking to do some high-end shopping while in town, go to the Konigsallee. You'll find boutiques from the world's top and upcoming designers. Or for something more affordable, head to Carlstadt for its art, beautiful 18th-century buildings and its food market.
  • For winter sports lovers, visit Jever Skihalle. It's Germany's first snowdome and comes with a 330-meter long slope, toboggan run and a four-star hotel.
  • If you want to save money on sightseeing, buy the Dusseldorf WelcomeCard. It costs EUR 9 for a 24-hour pass, and you'll get free entry to museums, sights as well as the city's extensive public transport system.
