Queensland’s spotlight might be often stolen by its beachside hubs and coastal cities, but Brisbane is a destination worth putting on your radar - and not just because of the cheap flights available from Christchurch. A non-stop return flight from Christchurch to Brisbane takes less than four hours, and there is plenty of money to be saved when booking affordable airfares with Webjet.

Webjet’s Deal Finder can help you compare hundreds of flights to Brisbane, allowing you to book the airline, seating class, travel dates, and stopover connections that fit perfectly with your travel needs and budget.

The Best Time to Visit Brisbane

Much like other areas of Queensland, Brisbane experiences a sub-tropical climate. Brisbane’s wettest (and hottest) months are December through March, with February usually seeing the most rainfall. If you don’t mind warmer temperatures and a bit of humidity, the summer is a great time to snap up cheap flights from Christchurch to Brisbane. The city tends to be less crowded and accommodation rates can also be lower. Autumn is a wonderful time to travel to Brisbane. The conditions see less rain and mild temperatures ranging from 10 to 26°C (50 to 80°F). Be sure to lather on plenty of sunscreen if you’re planning on attending outdoor events, such as Bike Week, the World Science Festival, and the Brisbane Comedy Festival. Spring in Brisbane welcomes warm days and balmy nights. Think temperatures ranging from 14 to 24°C (50-60°F). Visit during September to catch some of the events that are a part of the Brisbane Festival, which happens all month long. If you’re planning a trip to Brisbane during the springtime, book your hotel and flights well in advance. Brisbane’s winter weather brings dry conditions, although early mornings and some nights can become chilly. Local and international travellers come to Brisbane during winter to enjoy The Royal Queensland Show (affectionately dubbed ‘Ekka’) in August and the Regional Flavors food and wine festival in July.
