What is the best way to get around Adelaide?
Public transport
Adelaide has plenty of public transport links that make navigating the city easy. It’s a good idea to purchase a metroCARD for use on the Adelaide Metro network. You can buy them from the arrivals area at Adelaide Airport (ADL) or at the Adelaide Railway Station.
Trams operate throughout the city centre and inner suburbs and are great for reaching popular areas like Glenelg. There are also buses to attractions such as the South Australian Museum, Adelaide Botanic Garden and Adelaide Zoo.
Getting to and from the airport
When you book flights to Adelaide with Webjet, you’ll have no problem getting to and from Adelaide Airport (ADL). There are plenty of public buses that can take you from Adelaide Airport into the city centre in around 20 minutes. Buses from the airport run approximately every hour and stop near a number of downtown hotels. It’s cheap as well - if you use the metroCARD to pay for the Adelaide Airport bus service, it’ll cost you the same as a regular bus fare. Prices can vary depending on the time and distance of travel, so make sure to look up your route prior to travel for an accurate cost.
