Finnair, the largest airline in Finland (and flag carrier) is based in Vantaa at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. It is one of the world's oldest operating airlines, having started operations in 1923.
The airline focuses on flights between Asia and Europe, offers flights from Australian ports to Helsinki via Bangkok and nine other Asian gateways, in connection with Qantas and other oneworld partners.

Environmentally conscious fleet
Finnair's modern and low-emission fleet aims to become the airline of choice for environmentally conscious air travellers on intercontinental flights in the Northern Hemisphere. By conscientiously renewing its fleet, Finnair now has Europe's youngest and most eco-efficient narrow-body fleets.
Five new Airbus A330s were acquired by Finnair in 2009 which represent the latest in fuel efficient aircraft as well as passenger comfort. By 2011, Finnair’s intercontinental fleet will have expanded to eight A330s and six A340s.
