Fly in Comfort in an Air New Zealand Boeing 747

When you fly a long haul flight on Air New Zealand you will probably be seated on a Boeing 747-400. The Boeing 747-400s are able to fly long haul routes with a range of 6000 miles. The extra range achieved with Boeing 747-400s has meant that Air New Zealand flights to Europe only need one stop-over in South-East Asia, cutting out stop-overs in India and the Middle East.

Air New Zealand also plan on adding new Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Boeing 777-300ER planes to their fleet. These new aircraft are expected to phase out the 747 on international long haul flights. However, there are still a couple more years before the 787 and 777-300ER become a part of the Air New Zealand aircraft fleet.
